Hey folks - this is now possible! Now anyone with edit access on a team project is able to upload a new version from their local files. Please let us know if you have any questions about this.

Editors - Upload from local drive

Editors currently can only upload a new version from Dropbox and Google Drive. I work with freelancers. One may create the initial project, but another may have the latest update - its odd that they can't upload from their local machine. This is especially important because a freelancer doesn't have access to my Dropbox business storage amount.

Emily Brady Nicholas is correct. Currently you cannot upload via local files, but if you use "add people" to add others to your project, they can then upload new versions from Google and Dropbox. We are exploring other ways to resolve this in the longer term, but in the immediate term I hope this helps with your situation.

If you're not the original uploader, you can add new versions to a video from Dropbox or Google Drive, but not via upload from local files. Seems like an oversight and if version stacking is implemented I would hope at the least this is resolved via that feature.

Ahh gotcha thanks for the detailed reply! This does seem to be an issue that we should fix. I will update this post once the fix is out.

Hey Nathan - Editors should be able to upload files from their local machine by selecting the "Upload" option from the dropdown in "Add files". Please let us know if your editors are not seeing this option (would be helpful if you could also attach a screen recording or screenshot).

Tazrian Rafi: Yep not seeing that. I have edit privilege.
I guess I didn't specify that I was referring to versions. I updated the main comment to reflect. I can on a new video, I assume this makes me the "owner" of the video. On an existing video I can't upload a new version from local as an Editor in the project - unless I uploaded the original version of the video.

Tazrian Rafi: Just tested this further. As an owner of the "project" - I can not upload a new version from local - If I didn't upload the original video.
